Courageously create your own opportunities
Tertiary education opportunities were challenging because of quota system.
👉So I left Malaysia for uni here in Australia even though I was a scared 18yo leaving home all by myself.
🔹But it created opportunities in ways I could not have imagined.
Juggling family and work was hard and opportunities to progress were challenging to balance.
👉So I took on a transformation role even though I was warned I could be made redundant.
🔹But it led to opportunities to build new skills whilst looking after my young family.
I’ve been avoiding roles that need lots of writing in English for most of my career.
👉So I wrote on LI even though I was insecure with my English.
🔹But it created the opportunities to share all that I’ve learned and present a different voice in this community with more than 20,000 followers from around the world.
In every moment I felt that I was not progressing because no one was giving me the opportunities or there was a ceiling to my aspirations, I thought of how far I have came because I stepped into my fear and created my own opportunities.
Do not give the power to determine your growth in someone’s hand. Hold on to that power and courageously create your own opportunities. 💪
