Young leaders

She asked her son why did the school voted that boy as school captain, why not the others.

Her son reflected for a while.

He said, “The others talk about why they are good as school captain but the boy was the only one that spoke about what he will do for others. And that make others feel that they should vote for him to lead the school and benefit the whole school.”

She asked, “So what is leadership?”

He said, “When you think about what you can do for others”

A few weeks months, the school asked if he could lead the younger children during after school activities. Turned out that he has taken it upon himself to look after the safety of the younger children and they looked up to him.

Leadership starts with the mindset of how you can lift everybody else. And no one is too young to learn to be a leader.
