File_000 (4).jpeg

He was an economic graduate and in his own words not a very good one. His first job was a researcher. Move up to be the GM of Channel Ten, then CEO of Channel Seven.

But his dream was always to start something of his own.

He stepped down from leading an organisation of thousands to building Screentime with Des Monaghan, supported by one employee.

In that 23 years it became one of the most successful drama producers in the Australia eg Underbelly & RBT. He is the Chair for Compton School where Im the Board Observer.

This is a story of Bob Campbell. This is what I learnt from him

1️⃣Do not be afraid to pursue your dream.

2️⃣Have clarity in market gaps and therefore the purpose the business will play to solve that gap and be rewarded for

3️⃣Investors are looking for returns. So focus on financial disciple and acumen to built trust for future investment.

4️⃣Have the grit to learn. No one is to old to learn new skills

5️⃣Leadership is 80% managing people and 20% strategy. Keep improving on people skills.

Thanks for the coffee & wisdom Bob!

I look forward to our next catch up.
