Money maybe scarce but not how we choose to live our life

Growing up money was scarce.

Lived in a low cost flat. But it was like an adventure as I meandered up 5 stories of stairs to get home.

Or sent down by my mum to the shop chanting “Nanyang Siang Pau” the chinese newspaper so I wont forget - otherwise I have to climbed up many steps to ask mum again.

And I still remember waiting every night with my siblings whilst mum & dad restored the Mini Minor because that was all we could afford.

It was a car we love dearly even though it had no aircond and we would passed out from the heat drenched in sweat.

We didn’t have many toys but we had plenty of imaginations. Pretended to be a laundromat as we folded our clothes. A gymnast in a “circus” as we somersolt from the couch.

And perhaps it was from the eyes of a child that I believe that I do not need a lot of money to live a good life. Its what I do with what I’ve got.

Money maybe scarce but not how we choose to live our life.
