Walk the inclusion talk
She was disillusioned by the talk of inclusion. While it maybe well intended if not self interested, not many has sincerely walked the talk.
But one unexpected leader did. The leader read her honest assessment on inclusive leadership. Her leader was disappointed by the assessment but appreciated her candor. Despite what she wrote, her leader never penalized her for saying what most would be afraid to say.
Instead when she was down, this leader did what most didn’t, gave her a safe place and protected her. Gave her counsel and watched her grow stronger again so she can be her best potential.
It wasn’t just for her but also for many others under her wings. That was how her leader walks the talk of inclusion.
To put aside ego and face true words, no matter how scathing it maybe, and the courage to continue to be better so others can be their best self.
