How would you teach?

He has young children.

Faced between the choice of teaching the children to solve problems or solving problems for them, he chose to teach.

Faced with the choice to let the children do things for themselves or do it for them, he chose to give them the opportunity to do it themselves.

Faced with the choice to celebrate the behavior to excel or on excellent results, he chose to emphasize on behavior.

There is no right or wrong in these choices. For him, it was being intentional with the purpose of his choices.

As leaders we are faced with choices in how we lead. Would you coach or would you instruct? Would you trust or would you control? Would you focus on behavior or would you focus on outcome? Why do you do what you do? What team are you building?
