Boss is pointing finger
Boss was vague with what she wants. Then she changed her mind. But her demands are always now, now, now. Agile was the tagline. But it seemed disorganized was more the truth.
He found himself getting caught up in her whirlwind ways trying to meet her ever changing and confusing asks. He tried, the best he could, he really tried.
Others can see the amazing job he was doing. But disappointingly she could not. Instead of seeing how her own failings affected his performance, she told him that he was lacking. He was just devastated and felt undervalued.
Over the years though he has built great relationships with the people around him. Genuine and giving. In sharing his pain, one of his network referred him to another role.
He got it. He was elated.
You are talented and you are skilled. Your boss may not see it but your network can. Keep building your relationships by giving. One day you will receive.
Those who see the fault of others with little introspection of themselves, the lost is on them. You can move on to work with leaders who would value you.
