It was his first day at work. He tried to talk to the team, tried to get to know them. He sensed that many are wary and let very little out. Every comment made seems rather surface level and not much depth. Talking to his boss and this was what he heard, “It was a real mess with your predecessor.”

Building a team was what he thrives for and it finally dawned on him why he was hired. There is a lot to do here to create a culture of trust.
