How to influence for pay increase

My son offered to tutor his younger siblings.

I asked how much he would like to be paid.

He said None.

I asked him Why?

He said because I am still learning.

I said then there are 2 ways you can influence others to increase your earning potential

1️⃣You have a high academic score so people think that you have the secret ingredients to succeed

OR

2️⃣You have a track record of people that you have tutored who achieved high academic score

And if we reflect on it, its the same with our career when it come to influencing our bosses to increase our salary

OR

2️⃣You have a track record of leading a team to deliver on significant business impact. More people to make money, more money for you.
