The ball is in your court
His heart just was not into what he was doing anymore. Disappointment over the feedbacks he received and a sense that it was unfair.
Emails not responded and calls not returned. Requests to complete tasks within his responsibilities, not actioned. Made worse by the pandemic with reduced hours and reduced pay.
What is the point was how he felt.
This is what his leader shared with him, “Feedbacks mean someone cared enough to invest the time to help you grow. In this time of crisis is the time to consolidate your skills and rebound stronger when it is over. Do not give others reason to let you go, give them every reason to see you as their future leader. Ultimately the ball is in your court.”
