Aussies locked out - What does it mean to be an Australian?
Australia is now home. The country I found the love of my life. The soil my kids grew up playing on.
Where I poured my heart and soul giving back to.
And there it was in every Australian passport a solemn promise of belonging and protection
“The Governor-General of Australia... request all those whom it may concern to allow the bearer, an Australian Citizen, to pass freely without let or hindrance and to afford him or her every assistance and protection of which he or she may stand in need”.
A promise that rung hollow when thousands of Australians are locked out with threats of jail and fines.
So here I am asking, where is the compassion? Where is the Can Do attitude in our quarantine system? Where is the fair go?
What does it mean to be an Australian.
And my mum taught me 🔹 Do unto others as you would have them do unto you🔹
