Change starts with honesty
She was approached by HC seeking to understand what insights she has found from her research so they too can make recommendations to improve the inclusion of diverse cultural background.
They were well intentioned and she had a choice. A choice to be polite or to be honest.
“I am going to share some stories. And these stories are going to be difficult to listen to. But I hope you understand that it is also more difficult for those who have to lived through these stories because of the colour of their skins.
I hope that when you hear these stories, there will be reflections on moving beyond words on lips.”
